Welcome message for the new school year

Dear students, parents, and colleagues,

It is with great emotion and immense pleasure that I address you at the beginning of this school year, the first that I have the good fortune to share with you as Director of the Lycée Français International de Reus.

First of all, I would like to share with you the pride of our educational community: last year, our final-year students achieved a 100% pass rate in the Baccalauréat, with 85% honors, and our secondary students also excelled in the national Brevet diploma. These exemplary results are much more than statistics: they are testimony to the commitment, energy, and dedication of an entire team.

And this team is made up of the teachers, the early childhood assistants who accompany the very first steps of our youngest pupils, the supervisors who ensure the safety and well-being of students every day, the kitchen, cleaning, and maintenance staff who contribute to a pleasant daily life, and the administrative and school life staff who guarantee the smooth running and serenity of our days while preparing for the future. Each one plays an essential role in the success of our students.

Our Lycée is a true multilingual and multicultural microcosm, a human richness made up of talents from diverse origins and backgrounds. Together, we bring to life the values and mission of our school and of the Mission Laïque Française: excellence is our mission, the world is your school.

At the Lycée Français International “Marguerite Yourcenar,” we are not content with simply stating our ambitions: we defend them and make them a reality, step by step, day after day.

At the very heart of this endeavor are, of course, our students, who are both the subjects and the protagonists of their own learning. They know they can count on the experience and dedication of each and every one of us. But there are also the parents and families, who support us and place their trust in us. It is with you, the families, in a spirit of dialogue and growing cooperation, always guided by the common good and the success of every child, that we will write this school year and move forward—further and better.

Among our students, many—confident in their abilities and curious about the world, encouraged and guided by this wonderful team—cross borders, from Seconde all the way to university studies. We are very proud of them!

This new year will be what we make of it together: demanding, exciting, and full of both small and great achievements.

I wish that we live it with confidence, curiosity, and the joy of learning and growing.
